This role is with a financial services client of mine based in Galway, and they are looking for ahands on Director of Full-stack Engineering to come in and join their team.
There will beno direct reportsand the main focus of this position would be to givetechnical leadership to multiple teams.
The role will involve responsibilities such as Strategy/Planning, Coaching/Mentoring &Hands - on Engineering/Design/Architecture.
The salary will be a maximum of €105k + 30% bonus on top of that.
The role will also be hybrid, with a requirement to be in the office 1 full week in the month (3 weeks fully remote).
Required Skills & Experience
8+ years of hands‑on experience as afull-stacksoftware engineer
Advanced proficiency in Java, Angular, and Spring frameworks
Deep understanding of the full software development lifecycle
Proven experience designing and supporting high‑volume transactional systems
Skilled in building responsive front‑end applications using Type Script, Angular, or Node.js
Expertise in developing service‑oriented architectures using Java, Spring, and Apache Camel

Define and execute a forward‑looking technology strategy in collaboration with architecture, engineering, and product stakeholders.
Align product roadmaps with technical initiatives to ensure long‑term platform stability and scalability.
Lead modernization efforts by addressing legacy systems and promoting engineering discipline.
Team Development & Mentorship
Guide and mentor cross‑functional agile teams including developers, testers, and analysts.
Invest in developing future technical leaders through coaching and knowledge sharing.
Act as a technical authority, setting standards and best practices across teams.
Engineering Execution
Stay current with industry trends and integrate them into engineering guidelines and practices.
Lead strategic development initiatives that span multiple business domains and product areas.
Provide hands‑on technical leadership, contributing directly to development efforts and ensuring incremental value delivery.
Scope & Influence
Oversee technical direction for multiple agile teams, fostering a culture of engineering excellence.
Collaborate across departments to build a strong, engaged engineering community.
Advocate for developer experience improvements and champion tools and processes that enhance productivity.
You must be located in Ireland, & hold a Stamp 4/EU passport to be considered for this role
