We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the implementation and optimisation of HR and Payroll solutions. This role requires a strong blend of project leadership, stakeholder engagement, data analysis and change management expertise to deliver scalable, compliant, and user-centric HR technology solutions. As a project management consultant, you will be responsible for the delivery of the defined work packages, leading and managing the full project life cycle of HR and Payroll system implementation for our clients, while providing effective management to teams and give guidance to our clients and their teams.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
* Manage full lifecycle of HRIS and Payroll implementation project from planning through post-go-live support.
* Develop and maintain detailed project plans, ensuring alignment with regulatory timelines, internal controls, and business objectives.
* Lead risk management, issue resolution, and change control processes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
* Monitor implementation progress, report on project milestones, and support post-launch issue resolution.
* Examine relationships between problems and issues, continually probe and initiate research to identify critical problems.
* Establish clear goals and priorities needed to assess performance.
* Identify, quantify and manage issues impacting delivery of projects.
Stakeholder Engagement & Team Collaboration
* Serve as the primary point of contact between HR, IT, Finance, Compliance, and external vendors, acting as the primary liaison between business units and technical teams.
* Work alongside business SMES e.g. HR/payroll specialists, IT developers, and project managers to ensure successful project delivery.
* Facilitate workshops to gather business requirements, define priorities, and ensure alignment with enterprise goals.
* Understand change management methodologies and identify change activities/interventions to minimise disruption during rollout and facilitate user adoption.
* Assist in the creation of training materials, lead end-user training sessions and knowledge transfer.
* Lead cross-functional teams, to ensure clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
HRIS Functional & Technical Oversight
* Oversee HRIS and Payroll system configuration, data migration, and integrations with payroll, benefits, and financial systems.
* Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT), ensuring test coverage aligns with regulatory and operational needs.
* Collaborate with analysts and developers to ensure system design meets both functional and compliance requirements.
* Support data migration, system configuration, and user acceptance testing.
* Analyse HR and payroll data, identifying trends or anomalies, and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
* Ensure all project activities adhere to internal audit, data privacy, and regulations (e.g., GDPR).
* Apply structured project methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) and adapt based on project complexity and stakeholder needs.
* Conduct post-implementation reviews, capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices.
* Support the development of internal project management standards and tools tailored to the financial services environment.
* Manage all project governance requirements, reporting risks, benefits and measures for success through the appropriate governance channels.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience

Desired Skills
* Additional course or certification in Business Consulting
* Certified functional consultant in any one specific domain
* Project Management qualification
Experience
* HRIS and Payroll experience e.g. Workday, SuccessFactors or similar
* Understand HR & Payroll operations e.g. employee onboarding, offboarding, leave management, performance management, and regulatory compliance.
* Proven experience in implementing, upgrading, or migrating payroll and HR systems, including legacy and cloud-based platforms.
* Skilled in analysing large volumes of HR and payroll data, identifying trends or anomalies, and ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
* Experience and knowledge applying change management activities/interventions to drive adoption and minimise disruption across business units.
* Strong comprehension of the project management lifecycle and experience with all stages of the product development lifecycle (concept to launch)
