To support its growth, we are looking for a General Manager to direct all activities for the management and communication in manufacturing.
General Description:
The General Manager will oversee the entirety of a contemporary food processing facility situated in the Caribbean. Key duties involve managing industrial operations, fostering business growth, and ensuring profitability by implementing a strategic plan through collaborative efforts, thorough analysis, and innovative thinking. This includes formulating comprehensive business plans encompassing both short and long -term goals, budgets, and performance indicators.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Direct supervision of operations, including Quality Assurance, Milling Operations, Maintenance, and product storage.
2. Development and execution of strategic business plans.
3. Providing guidance to senior management for their short and long -term plans.
4. Offering insight into new product development and strategic commercial decisions.
5. Overseeing new business projects and capital expenditures.
6. Ensuring efficiency and optimization in production and distribution.
7. Management and development of the management team.
8. Reviewing and approving cost/profit center budgets.
9. Ensuring cost control and margin maximization.
10. Regular review of management reports and financial projections.
11. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
12. Engaging with stakeholders, partners, board of directors, and government officials as required.
13. Monitoring inventory levels to avoid stock outs and maintain cost optimization.
14. Cultivating relationships with key customers through regular visits.
15. Implementing objective -based personnel performance reviews.
16. Addressing legal and compliance matters with retained counsel.
17. Managing employee relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Requirements
18. Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance or related field.
19. Over 10 years of management experience in industrial operations or food manufacturing.
20. Understanding of agricultural commodities markets.
21. Experience in managing operations in developing countries, with knowledge of food distribution being advantageous.
22. Experience in addressing theft and fraud in a developing country setting.
23. Experience working in the Caribbean Community
