Job Overview
The successful candidate will oversee and manage all health, safety, and environmental aspects of construction contractor operations on-site.
Responsibilities
* Evaluate contractor prequalification questionnaires to ensure compliance with company standards.
* Oversee the Contractor Management Portal system to optimize performance.
* Collaborate with client representatives to review task-specific method statements and develop effective strategies.
* Determine scope of work for each contractor in conjunction with client representatives.
* Verify that contractor companies are qualified to work on-site, adhering to HSE protocols.
* Ensure individual contractors complete general HSE induction knowledge checks prior to site access.
* Review and approve permits to work and risk assessment documents to mitigate potential hazards.
* Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
* Manage the contractor Safety Observation Report programme to foster a culture of safety excellence.
* Lead event investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
Qualifications and Skills
* Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field, demonstrating expertise in risk management.
* Extensive experience in HSE management, showcasing leadership skills and strategic thinking.
* Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating collaboration with diverse teams.
* Ability to work collaboratively with teams to achieve common goals, promoting a culture of teamwork and mutual respect.
* Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
