Castlerea Adult Services offers community-based services including day programs, residential and respite care, community outreach, family support, and multidisciplinary support. Support is provided in various settings—day centres, supported employment, social and micro-enterprises, training, and education, either in groups or individually.
We seek innovative, creative, and motivated individuals eager to contribute to our team. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of supported individuals and openness to change are essential.
Location:
Castlerea Adult Services, covering Castlerea, Ballintubber, Ballinlough, and Cloonfad. The successful candidate may work in residential, respite, day settings, or in the community or individuals’ homes. Initial placement will be in one area, with potential for future reassignment based on service needs.
Qualifications:
* Current Live Register Certificate from NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID, or RGN qualification.
* Full, clean manual driving licence valid for Irish roads. Assistance will be provided to obtain a Class D1 licence if needed.
Experience:
Experience and understanding of issues affecting individuals with an intellectual disability are desirable. Full training will be provided.
Skills:
* Good judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work sensitively with family members.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Patience, flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm for activity engagement.
* Ability to educate staff and families on health promotion.
* Willingness to participate in person-centred planning, team meetings, training, and performance management.
Working Hours:
* Part-time, 69 hours per fortnight, based on a 14-day duty roster, including days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and night duties.
Annual leave entitlements are 24 days pro-rata, with service-related leave after 5 and 10 years.
Remuneration:
Salary scales as of 01/03/2025:
* Staff Nurse: €36,919 - €54,928 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Increment and long service increments apply.
* Enhanced Nurse: €43,872 - €56,706 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Increment and long service increments apply.
Additional payments are made for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins, and night duties. Location allowance of €2,637 per annum applies when supporting individuals with severe/profound intellectual disabilities.
All roles are permanent, part-time, pensionable, and a panel may be formed for future appointments within Castlerea over the next 6-12 months.
