Our Supply Chain/Procurement team is looking for a Senior Buyer to support the launch of our first European manufacturing site in Athenry.
As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in coordinating purchasing activities for the Athenry site, working closely with manufacturing, planning, and engineering departments to acquire inventory cost-effective and timely.
Where You Come In
Generate, adjust, and expedite purchase orders based on MRP demands and/or Min/Max requirements.
Generate supplier forecasts and coordinate general purchasing activities for Dexcom for direct and indirect materials within their portfolio.
Establish appropriate inventory strategies for the portfolio.
Provide feedback on BOM parts/commodities numbers in the ERP.
Support supplier relationship management strategies.
Manage inventory levels of the portfolio in line with business goals.
Suggest cost-saving proposals.
Interact closely with suppliers and QA to resolve quality issues.
Minimise excess and obsolescence inventory.
Support resolution of purchased price variances, AP discrepancies, and Material Review Board (MRB) dispositions within stated time frames.
Review and report supplier delivery performance.
Participate in business reviews with suppliers.
Monitor on-time delivery and initiate corrective actions.
Manage interaction with suppliers associated with engineering change orders.
Comply with US FDA regulations, regulatory requirements, company quality system, policies, and procedures.
Assist in local sourcing initiatives in collaboration with Corporate Procurement.
What Makes You Successful
You have a degree in a relevant discipline with a minimum of 6 years of purchasing experience using ERP systems; Oracle desired but not mandatory.
You have a high level of understanding in planning, MRP, and MPS as it relates to purchasing.
You have experience within the medical device industry.
You understand configuration management as it relates to item master and bill of materials.
You proactively develop and execute ideas for improvements.
You are self-motivated, with excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
