My client is seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll / Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis.
Candidates will need to have a minimum of three years' experience in a similar role
Candidates must have a strong payroll background and be proficient in processing end to end payroll
Experience using Bright pay, Sage Line 50 and Excel are a distinct advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Weekly Payroll
Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payroll for employees using current manual timesheet system.
Ensuring all payments, deductions, BIK are made as required including pension contributions and other deductions.
Processing and payment of employee expenses.
Accounts Payable
Issuing Purchase Orders as required
Set up new suppliers/supplier amendments on Sage.
Preparing and processing of supplier payments on a weekly and monthly basis as required.
Management of Credit Cards including reconciliation of receipts and posting transactions.
Reconcile suppliers balances to statements
Monthly Management Accounts
Ensuring debtors/creditors balances agree with monthly trial balance.
Month end internal controls and reconciliations.
Daily bank postings and weekly bank reconciliations.
Compliance responsibilities
Preparing tax returns on a timely basis i.e. Intrastat, VIES, VAT and PAYE.
CSO Returns – payroll related
Assisting with general administration duties as required and dealing with suppliers, etc.
Assist with future process improvements including migration from Sage to new accounting software
Other ad hoc or project work as required by the Financial Controller
The Person
Key Skills:
At least 3+ years' relevant experience
Strong payroll experience and understanding of accounting procedures.
Third level qualification or accounting technician qualification (or equivalent) desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Highly proficient in MS Excel and finance systems.
Sage50 experience a bonus.
Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical mindset.
Positive, proactive, and solutions-oriented highly organised individual.
An effective team player, who demonstrates strong attention to detail and ability to follow through to completion of tasks.
