We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Sustainability Manager to join our Transport Infrastructure team in Dublin.
Amey is continuing to grow its presence across rail and transport infrastructure in the Republic of Ireland. As part of this expansion, we are strengthening our sustainability capability to ensure our projects are environmentally responsible, future‑ready, and aligned with both Irish regulatory requirements and Amey’s wider sustainability ambitions.
In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and delivering sustainability across our Irish portfolio. Acting as a senior advisor to operational leaders, clients, and bid teams, you will lead the development of practical, compliant and innovative approaches that drive measurable environmental and sustainability outcomes.
The standard hours of work are 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
What You’ll Do
Lead and influence sustainability across project delivery, from early client engagement through to mobilisation and operations
Act as a trusted senior advisor, providing expert sustainability and environmental guidance to leaders, project teams and clients
Support work winning by shaping credible sustainability solutions that strengthen tender submissions and build client confidence
Drive the development of low‑carbon, resource‑efficient and environmentally responsible approaches across projects and the supply chain
Oversee environmental compliance and support the implementation and continuous improvement of ISO 14001‑aligned management systems
Develop and monitor sustainability performance, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement across projects
Partner with internal and external stakeholders to embed best practice and strengthen Amey’s sustainability culture
Contribute to audits, assurance activities and environmental investigations, applying root cause analysis to improve outcomes
Support capability building across teams, promoting awareness, training and engagement in sustainability

What You’ll Bring
Degree‑level qualification in Environment, Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline
Experience in sustainability, environmental or ESG roles within infrastructure, construction or transport environments
Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards (or equivalent professional status)
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. ISEP or equivalent)
ISO 14001 Lead Auditor (or strong working knowledge of environmental management systems)
Experience and Skills
Experience providing senior sustainability advice across projects or business units
Strong understanding of environmental management, compliance and sustainability principles
Experience supporting bids, project delivery and stakeholder engagement
Ability to influence and work effectively with senior stakeholders and clients
Strong communication skills with a pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach
Experience delivering sustainability initiatives such as carbon reduction, circular economy or biodiversity improvements
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast‑paced project environment
