As a Manager in the Tax Risk & Controversy team, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive experience, helping our clients navigate through Revenue interventions and, more broadly, manage their tax risk. This is an emerging and dynamic area within Tax, making it an exciting time to get involved. This role offers an excellent opportunity for tax professionals to pivot into a high‑growth specialism and broaden their expertise across Tax Risk & Controversy. We are committed to your development and will provide dedicated time and resources for upskilling across all areas of Tax Risk & Controversy ensuring you succeed.Key ResponsibilitiesManaging the Revenue intervention process and liaising with Revenue throughout sameCarrying out pre‑audit testing and reviews across various tax heads to identify areas for disclosure to RevenueAssisting in the preparation of Qualifying DisclosuresEngaging with Revenue to agree an appropriate tax settlement and the application of interest and penalties on sameAdvising clients on their rights, Revenue powers and strategy in managing Revenue interventionsSupporting clients entering and engaging with Revenue through its Co‑Operative Compliance FrameworkCarrying out assessments of clients’ tax controls and supporting them in developing governance materials such as a Tax Control FrameworkGeneral ResponsibilitiesCoach team members and drive the team to make a difference and deliver results in a responsible, authentic and passionate mannerHave an active role in training our junior and senior staff members promoting a learning cultureBring business knowledge, innovation and insight to create value for clients and the firmEmbrace the digital transformation being undertaken in our business and be motivated to familiarise yourself with these evolutions and to drive these technologies further in our day‑to‑day business and that of our clientsSet the tone in promoting risk management and compliance proceduresOperate and collaborate effectively with a mindset that transcends geographic and cultural boundariesWork on attracting, developing and retaining the best talents for the firmDirecting and driving the success of multiple engagementsBe responsible for managing within budgetary and time constraints while providing a high‑level of client satisfactionBe part of and contribute to the fun working environmentQualifications and Experience• Manager 3+ years of experience required, working in the Revenue Commissioners, a Big 4 firm / mid‑tier practice or similar• Ideally the candidate should have experience of Revenue audits / tax controls / controls testing but this is not a prerequisite• Indirect tax experience is a plus• Tax, legal Accountancy qualification (or qualified by experience) with a strong academic recordKey Skills and CompetenciesBusiness Acumen – use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current trends in the market and utilise this information to assist your clients in making innovative business decisionsRelationship management – ability to read situations to build quality, diverse relationshipsCreative – demonstrate an ability to contribute to new ideas and propose innovative solutions to problemsBenefitsCompetitive compensation package, inclusive employee benefits and flexibility programs that will help you thrive in work and lifeEqual Opportunity EmployerWe are an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity.
