**Senior Mechanical Preconstruction Engineer Role Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable contractor in Europe as a Senior Mechanical Preconstruction Engineer. Based in Dublin, you will be part of the preconstruction team, working closely with project managers to prepare proposals for clients.
As a Senior Mechanical Preconstruction Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
* Engaging with designers to develop detailed design proposals.
* Reviewing project designs to identify opportunities for alternative construction methods.
* Assessing construction methodology to ensure efficient project delivery and minimize temporary works requirements.
* Coordinating with the supply chain to prepare subcontract packages and reviewing proposals from bidders.
* Developing technical and commercial comparisons to evaluate and select preferred contractors.
* Reviewing lifting and crane requirements and creating a crane strategy for the project.
* Managing project logistics and identifying necessary temporary works.
* Identifying site setup and compound needs, detailing preliminary project requirements.
* Preparing risk mitigation plans to address potential project risks.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in an engineering discipline.
* A minimum of 5+ years of experience as an engineer in construction or engineering.
* Prior experience with major contractors is highly desirable.
* Preconstruction activities experience is advantageous.
