OverviewPrimary focus of this position is to assist the R&D team in medical device development and testing. This includes developing, optimizing, and validating processes for building a medical device, building units for engineering, performing tests, and collecting and analyzing data. BD is a global medical technology company; Advancing the world of health is our Purpose.ResponsibilitiesYou will:Support the development and evaluation of innovative medical devices by assisting with product builds, prototype fabrication, and preparation for engineering validation, preclinical and clinical studies.Contribute to process development by helping design and refine manufacturing processes, tooling, and equipment.Create and maintain high-quality documentation—including work instructions, standard operating procedures, technical reports, change requests, and test protocols—in alignment with GMP and quality standards.Participate in test method development and validation, perform testing activities, collect and analyze data, and present results in clear, reportable formats.Provide training on processes and test methods to manufacturing and quality teams.Support equipment management through preventative maintenance, repairs, and vendor engagement for testing, calibration, and parts procurement.Coordinate materials and inventory, generate purchase orders, manage R&D stock, oversee shipments and receipts, and prepare commercial invoices in collaboration with internal teams and courier customs specialists.QualificationsMain requirements include:Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED. Associate of Science degree in a technical discipline preferred.Experience: 0–3 years in industrial R&D or process development, preferably in a medical device or other regulated FDA/QSR and ISO environment.Ability to follow instructions, collect data, and record results.Experience working in a laboratory and controlled environment (cleanroom) is a plus.Ability to assist in executing validations and operate lab equipment.Basic computer skills (MS Windows, MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic math/statistics skills.About YouEducation and/or Experience:Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED. Associate of Science degree in a technical discipline preferred. 0–3 years of industrial experience in R&D or process development, preferably in medical device or other regulated FDA/QSR and ISO environment.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment. The employee frequently is required to verbally communicate with other associates. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be in an open cubicle environment.
