Team Horizon is seeking an Energy Technical Services Officer for a role in Sligo.
The main function is to progress energy and carbon reduction through energy management teams and behavioural change programmes. Support, promote, and actively participate in sustainable energy, decarbonisation, water, and transport initiatives to create a more sustainable, low-carbon, and efficient facilities.

What you will be doing:
* Monitoring and reporting on energy consumption in healthcare premises.
* Supporting existing and initiating new Energy Awareness Management Teams in identified locations.
* Building on best practices in existing areas.
* Establishing Energy Management Teams including Hospital Manager, Finance Manager, Maintenance Manager, and Estates Representative.
* Working closely with and supporting Hospital Green Teams and Energy Teams.
* Providing metered energy and water usage data, comparators, and KPIs.
* Progressing energy audits and compiling action plans for each location.
* Running staff "User Education" and "Energy Awareness Programmes".
* Building on the OPW’s ‘Optimising Power @ Work’ programme.
* Progressing Display Energy Certificates.
* Producing a register of opportunities and supporting project development for retrofit projects.
* Utilising nationally agreed tools to assess and prioritize projects.
* Progressing funding applications for capital works, including major and minor programmes.
* Managing specifications, design, procurement, and completion of minor capital works.
* Reviewing the MIC for all supply points.
* Working closely with the National Estates Energy Unit and reporting on activities and expenditures.
* Contributing to the annual energy minor works programme.
* Performing other duties as assigned.
What you need to apply:
* Hold a Level 8 (or higher) QQI major academic award in Mechanical, Electrical, or Sustainable Energy Engineering.
* Membership of Engineers Ireland or a relevant professional association.
* At least five years’ experience post-qualification in related fields, including design, project management, or maintenance of building services.
* Possess the necessary knowledge and management ability for the role.
* Be of good character.
