Agile Quality Coach - Day Rate Contract, Dublin/Hybrid
Talentspot is exclusively supporting a central‑Dublin based customer in their search for an Agile Quality/Test Coach.
This is a day‑rate contract with hybrid (2‑3 days a week) remote‑working.
The emphasis of this new position is hands‑on testing and bug‑bashing, with a typical split of 60/40 vs coaching developers in your scrum team and driving all things quality.

As a member of a Dublin‑based Quality coaching team, you will join them in having defect prevention at the centre of what you do, achieving this by collaborating with team members to build quality into engineering processes.
You’ll bring the ability to understand a product from the end user’s perspective and test that product with usability in mind. You’ll work in an evolved agile environment and deep experience in this space is essential as they utilise the best of agile methodologies to advocate for quality. You’ll possess a quality‑driven, collaborative approach as a default, maintaining a clear focus on continuous improvement.
Role & Responsibilities
Work as an Agile Quality/Test Coach in a fast‑paced environment to help maintain and improve product quality
Serve as the sole QA representative in an agile scrum team consisting of 4+ developers
Train and coach developers and team members on risk‑based techniques, mindmaps, and exploratory test techniques
Collaborative in your approach to testing, including performing in dev/pair testing with developers
Act as a change agent by leading and being the point of contact for all Quality / Test process improvements for your team
Continuously monitor team quality processes and production quality, and report on team metrics
Encourage colleagues to drive continuous improvements
Work with UI automation engineers to continuously review and improve the automated regression suite, as well as lead the release plan for automation
Ensure teams adhere to agreed test automation guidelines and standards
Facilitate mob test sessions with your team to further test high‑risk features and show the teams the value in exploratory testing
Participate in early quality solutioning workshops when required
Take a collaborative approach to story refining and use story points as a metric for estimation
Identify quality issues, defects, performance issues and collaborate across teams to achieve issue resolution
Technical Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge and proven experience in software QA methodologies, tools and processes
5+ years in software quality assurance, test design and execution
2‑3+ years’ experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum
Good understanding of test automation guidelines and experience in defining automated test coverage for a product or feature
Ability to test mobile apps across different OS
SQL knowledge
Ownership of testing tools
Commercial experience with Agentic AI, Chrome plug‑ins, and Copilot Studio
Maintain an up‑to‑date knowledge of the process and industry developments
Soft Skills
An analytical approach to problem finding – bring a proactive approach, spotting recurring errors in production, quality themes and patterns within the team, and create solutions to these issues
Self‑starter and able to motivate those around you
Bring a collaborative approach to testing
Facilitate mob test sessions with your scrum team to further test high‑risk features and to demonstrate the value of exploratory testing
Experience in leading Quality efforts in an Agile team is an advantage
Encourage colleagues to drive continuous improvements
Act as a change agent by leading and being the point of contact for all quality/testing process improvements for your team
Bring a collaborative approach to story refining and use story points as an estimation metric
Excellent communicator and facilitator of team sessions
Drive continuous improvement in teams
You must be eligible to live in Ireland working as a day‑rate contractor (possess an EU/UK passport or Stamp 4 visa).
