Seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Specialist to provide expert guidance and support on all aspects of environment, health, safety, and welfare within the organization. This role is based in Tipperary.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management systems to ensure full compliance with relevant legislation, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
2. Collaborate effectively with the construction team to integrate and manage site-specific construction EHS plans.
3. Evaluate sites to ensure they are properly equipped with appropriate EHS protocols and procedures.
4. Identify and mitigate high-risk activities on site through continuous monitoring and improvement.
5. Support the development and coordination of risk assessment & method statement processes, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.
6. Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and deliver training and communication to site personnel, including subcontractors.
7. Verify that all subcontractors meet company protocols and assign them to projects accordingly.
8. Investigate incidents using incident management procedures and notification protocols, and report findings to stakeholders.
9. Conduct weekly toolbox talks to disseminate safety alerts and promote a culture of awareness.
10. Provide EHS project support and maintain relevant documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Relevant degree or diploma in Environmental Health and Safety.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in an EHS role, preferably in construction.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
* Flexibility to travel when required.
