Transport Operations Manager
We are working with a leading FMCG organisation in Dublin to recruit an experienced Transport Operations Manager to lead and optimise a high-volume distribution operation. This is a key leadership role within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
The Role:
As Transport Operations Manager, you will have full responsibility for the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring service excellence, compliance, and cost efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Managing and developing transport supervisors, planners, and drivers
2. Overseeing daily transport operations across multi-drop FMCG deliveries
3. Ensuring full compliance with transport legislation, health & safety, and company policies
4. Driving KPI performance including OTIF, cost control, and vehicle utilisation
5. Managing fleet performance (owned or 3PL) and supplier relationships
6. Leading continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
7. Handling escalations, incident management, and customer service issues
Requirements:
8. Proven experience in a Transport Operations / Transport Manager role within FMCG or high-volume distribution
9. Strong knowledge of Irish transport legislation and compliance
10. Experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment
11. Excellent people management, planning, and organisational skills
12. Strong commercial and analytical mindset
13. CPC qualification highly desirable
