Industrial Product Design Role at DexGreen Ltd.
DexGreen are an internationally renowned telecoms consultancy, specialising in fibre optic cable and related products for internet provision. With over 30 years in business, DexGreen has grown continuously in that time, servicing 100's of thousands of customers and developing over 300 unique physical products for the telecoms market.
In this role, you will be across the creation of physical products, and working on an even larger variety of the requirements relating to those projects - Including but not limited to;
· Market research and project scoping
· Concept generation and refinement
· Concept 3D prototyping, evaluation and testing
· Packaging design
· Creating marketing assets such as product rendering
A successful candidate will meet the below criteria
Minimum Requirements
· rd level degree – Product Design and Technology, Industrial Product Design or other relevant design disciplines for physical product design
· Design portfolio demonstrating you previous work and skillset
· CAD proficiency in fusion 360, solidworks.
· Familiarity with rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, laser cutting, general model making
· Graphic design proficiency, with a competency in adobe photoshop/illustrator or affinity suite. Familiarity with designing for printed production is desirable.
Desirable Requirements
· Excellent organisational skills
· Excellent customer liaising skills for product proposals
· Flexibility and adaptability as design requirements evolve
· Ability to work in a fast paced and growing environment.
· Ability to propose, design and realise product prototypes for customer review
· Familiarity with 3D rendering software such as Blender/Keyshot
· Interest/Understanding of manufacturing principles
· Video production or familiarity with video software
This role requires the successful candidate to be hands on and practically minded, with the ability to translate customer requirements into presentable concepts. You will be working onsite full time and be part of an exciting design team reporting updates & proposals to the Design Lead and R&D Manager along with working closely with various other internal departments, manufacturing sites and customers. The successful candidate will be flexible and driven with an ability to work inter-departmentally, as some requirement to work on a variety of projects and tasks requiring different approaches.
You will experience seeing manufacturing at both high and low volume, and learn of design considerations both humanly and fiscally driven. You will be part of developing new and innovating products to enhance the delivery of fibre optics and telecommunications services across the world, and you may get to see products you design in your home some day.
