The team follows a follow-the-sun on-call rotation, where the on-call engineer represents the Network Reliability team during operational networking events, coordinating efforts for swift mitigation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing changes in Amazon's fulfillment center and transportation networks to ensure scalability and reliability. They will collaborate with automation teams to design and refine tools that enhance network scalability and lead network projects in areas such as engineering, deployment, technology refresh, best practices, and optimization.

Troubleshooting complex networking issues, including switching, routing, interconnectivity, performance, and platform configurations, using advanced tools is also a key responsibility. Providing critical network support to diagnose, mitigate, and resolve large-scale events affecting Amazon's operational sites is crucial.

In addition, the Network Development Engineer will define and enforce network engineering standards in collaboration with global teams, ensuring compliance with best practices and security policies. Driving innovation across all network layers, from Top-of-Rack switches to Provider Edge routers, is also a key objective.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in network automation using Bash/shell scripting and programming preferably Python. In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IP routing, and network security architecture is essential. Strong ability to collaborate within a diverse team and work effectively with a wide range of colleagues is also required.
