Logistics Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to join our growing delivery team based in Maynooth. This role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all site logistics activities across large-scale construction projects, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of people, materials, plant, and equipment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting project delivery by developing and implementing robust logistics strategies, managing supply chain interfaces, and maintaining safe site operations in fast-paced live construction environments. Experience working on mission‑critical projects, particularly data centres, is highly desirable. The role aligns with the client's focus on delivering technically complex projects across the logistics, data centre, pharmaceutical, food, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics Planning & Coordination
Develop and implement comprehensive project logistics plans from pre‑construction through to project completion.
Coordinate deliveries, storage, handling, and distribution of materials, plant, and equipment.
Manage site access, traffic management plans, vehicle movements, and pedestrian segregation.
Coordinate crane operations, lifting activities, and major equipment deliveries.
Ensure logistics activities are aligned with project programmes and construction sequencing.
Supply Chain Management
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and transport providers to ensure efficient delivery schedules.
Monitor and manage material flow to avoid project delays and site congestion.
Coordinate off‑site storage facilities and just‑in‑time delivery strategies where required.
Support procurement teams with logistics requirements for major packages and long‑lead items.
Site Operations
Oversee site logistics personnel and logistics subcontractors.
Maintain welfare, storage, laydown, and temporary facilities across the project.
Ensure all logistics activities comply with project‑specific safety procedures and statutory requirements.
Manage waste, recycling, and environmental logistics initiatives.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Promote a positive safety culture and ensure all logistics activities are carried out safely.
Conduct logistics risk assessments and develop method statements for complex operations.
Lead logistics coordination meetings and toolbox talks.
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry best practices, and relevant legislation.
Support project audits and inspections.
Stakeholder Management
Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Design Teams, Commercial Teams, and Client Representatives.
Provide regular logistics reports, KPIs, and progress updates.
Identify risks and opportunities affecting project delivery and implement mitigation measures.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
Minimum 5 years' experience in a Logistics Manager or Senior Logistics Coordinator role within construction.
Experience managing logistics on large‑scale industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of construction sequencing, supply chain management, and site operations.
Excellent planning, organisational, and problem‑solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and logistics planning software.
Full driving licence.
Desirable
Experience in fast‑track design and build environments.
Knowledge of BIM‑enabled logistics planning.
CSCS/Safe Pass, SMSTS, IOSH, or equivalent safety qualifications.
Degree or qualification in Construction Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
