Join a High-Performing Team in a Beautiful West Cork Setting. The 4-star Maritime Hotel in Bantry is currently seeking Public Area Assistant to join our dedicated Accommodation team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a structured, task-oriented environment and takes pride in delivering sparkling clean public areas and outstanding guest experiences. No prior experience is necessary — full training is provided, and our buddy system ensures you’re fully supported as you settle into the role.
Overview
The Public Area Assistant will help maintain cleanliness and presentation of public areas across the property, contributing to a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a full walk-through of all public areas at the start of each shift, ensuring spaces are clean, tidy, and free from visible rubbish.
Remove any litter or debris from floors, furniture, and high-traffic areas immediately.
Inspect all public toilets, ensuring floors are dry, surfaces are clean, and issues requiring attention are addressed promptly.
Clean and prepare all furniture, ledges, counters, and touchpoints.
Clean all flooring in assigned areas, using the floor-scrubbing machine on tiled surfaces and vacuuming all carpeted or non-tile areas.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the shift, responding quickly to any cleaning needs as they arise.
Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or areas requiring additional attention to the supervisor.
Follow all health, safety, and hygiene procedures to ensure a safe environment for guests and staff.
