The Opportunity
As a Manager in the Global Employment Law Team, you will work closely with our People & Culture teams. You'll help shape the global and local people & culture strategy from an employment law perspective and support the implementation of firmwide projects and initiatives.
You'll build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, co-designing Staff Handbooks, employment agreements, guidelines and benefit plans. Your approach will focus on establishing yourself as a Business Partner whilst managing employment law requirements and risks.
About The Role
You are a fully qualified lawyer, interested in employment law, you are solution-oriented and enthusiastic about innovative topics. Your main tasks are:
* Managing all employment law related topics in BearingPoint's North region, covering Ireland, UK, USA and Scandinavia
* Providing employment law advice to our management and People & Culture teams, in all employment law matters, including operational changes, M&A transactions and restructuring measures
* Reviewing, analysing and presenting employment law topics and solutions
* Drafting and reviewing contracts, agreements, handbooks, guidelines, benefit plans and other employment law documents
* Advising the People & Culture teams on matters relating to EU Directives and supporting implementation of People & Culture initiatives covering multiple countries
* Preparation and presentation of information for management on legal developments in employment law
* Development and implementation of international policies, processes and guidelines
* Representing BearingPoint in employment disputes in court.
About You
* You are a fully qualified lawyer and ideally have at least 5 years of professional experience in an international company or in a law firm in labour law
* You would like to broaden your expertise and manage labour law topics in several countries such as Ireland, UK, USA, Scandinavia
* You have strong analytical skills as well as good commercial understanding and value practical solutions
* You have the ability to interact with employees and supervisors at all levels and attach particular importance to trusting cooperation
* You are team-oriented, communicative and analytical
* You work independently, responsibly, pragmatically and are good at prioritisation
Desirable Qualifications
* Professional experience in an international company or in a law firm in labour law
* Expertise in managing labour law topics in Ireland and UK, additional knowledge in USA labour law would be an advantage.
