Job Title: Ad Astra Fellow

The School of Physics at University College Dublin invites applications for the position of Ad Astra Fellow in Medical Physics. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and talented individual to join our dynamic research environment.

* Lead a research programme in advanced analysis techniques in diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, and radiation oncology physics.
* Pursue national and international funding opportunities to support research initiatives.
* Cultivate collaborations with research groups both within and outside the School of Physics.


About the Position:

This Ad Astra Fellowship offers a unique chance to contribute to the translation of fundamental physics understanding into health and clinical applications. As an emerging leader in Medical Physics, you will be expected to undertake high-impact research and deliver innovative solutions.

The successful candidate will have a strong research profile, demonstrated by publications, clinical development, and funding success. They will also be responsible for teaching and supervising students, as well as contributing to the School's undergraduate and graduate programmes.


Key Responsibilities:

Research Programme: Develop and lead a research programme in advanced analysis techniques, focusing on diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, and radiation oncology physics.

Funding and Collaborations: Pursue national and international funding opportunities to support research initiatives and cultivate collaborations with research groups within and outside the School of Physics.

Taught and Supervised Students: Contribute to teaching and supervising students in the School's undergraduate and graduate programmes.

Academic Contributions: Publish research findings in high-quality peer-reviewed journals and participate in academic activities that promote the reputation of the School of Physics.
