We're hiring! We're on the lookout for a brilliant Maintenance Manager to join our team at Clink i lar, Dublin
Accountabilities:
* Develop and manage a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule for all hostel assets and systems
* Lead all maintenance activities
* Manage the maintenance team to ensure excellent maintenance standards are achieved
* Manage all software systems pertaining to maintenance and project management of our buildings
* Oversee and carry out general repairs, and maintenance throughout the building, including guest rooms, social spaces, public areas, back of house, and external grounds
* Ensure timely response and resolution to all maintenance requests and reports
* Maintain accurate records of repairs, services, and inspections
Operational Responsibilities:
* Act as Clink I lar’s Health and Safety Officer, ensuring full compliance with all statutory requirements and company policies
* Conduct regular health and safety audits and risk assessments across all areas of the property
* Lead on fire safety, including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, and coordinating fire drills
* Maintain records of health and safety inspections, incidents, and statutory checks
* Provide training and guidance to staff on health and safety and emergency procedures
* Take ownership of the hostel's safety statement, keep it up to date, and update it with new hazards or risk assessments
* Manage all ongoing maintenance projects, from initiation to closure
* Develop, manage, and control the annual maintenance and capital expenditure budgets
* Monitor and report on departmental expenditure against budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities
* Source, negotiate, and manage supplier and contractor agreements ensuring value for money
* Ensure projects are completed on time, communicating any barriers to success
* Provide financial reporting and forecasting to the General Manager on maintenance spend, project costs, and capital works
* Manage stock ordering, checking, and usage monitoring
* Support operational excellence across properties and assist other GMs
* Be available for out-of-hours emergencies and occasionally work as Duty Manager
* Collaborate with other maintenance managers across the group
* Ensure the hostels are well-presented, fixtures and fittings are in good order, and create improvement plans as needed
* Lead, schedule, and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring high-quality work
* Manage external contractors and service providers
* Support team development through training, coaching, and performance management
About You:
* Proven maintenance management experience, minimum 3 years, preferably in hospitality or facilities management
* Strong knowledge of Health and Safety, Fire Safety, and statutory compliance
* Multi-skilled trades background (electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, or general maintenance)
* Experience managing budgets and financial reporting
* Strong negotiation and procurement skills
* Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
* Confident team leadership and contractor management
* High computer literacy for scheduling, procurement, and reporting
