Senior Manager- Fisheries Science and Advisory A major public sector scientific organisation is seeking a Senior Manager - Fisheries Science and Advisory to lead its Fisheries Resources and Assessment team. The role involves delivering scientific advice to Government on fisheries resources and supporting national fisheries policy. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape national fisheries science outputs, manage stakeholder relationships, and influence decision making at both national and international levels. Candidates do not need a fisheries or marine background but must have proven leadership, analytical, and high-level communication abilities. Responsibilities: Oversee the Fisheries Resources and Assessment team. Deliver fisheries advice to government departments and support international advisory work. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including industry and environmental organisations. Ensure compliance with organisational policies and standards. Requirements: Relevant third level degree and strong technical, analytical, and leadership skills. Minimum five years' experience in people, project, or budget management. Excellent communication and report-writing skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes under pressure. Candidates do not need a fisheries or marine background but must demonstrate strong technical, leadership and communication capability. Desirable: Knowledge/interest of the fishing industry would be beneficial. Full clean driving licence.
