Our client is a leading healthcare provider in Limerick, delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients in a supportive and inclusive environment.
They are dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services to the local community and are looking to expand their team with dedicated Healthcare Assistants.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with personal care activities such as washing, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Support patients with mobility needs and provide assistance with moving or repositioning.
Monitor patients' vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, and pulse as directed by medical staff.
Help maintain a clean and safe environment, ensuring proper infection control procedures are followed.
Provide emotional and social support to patients, offering companionship and assisting with daily routines.
Assist nursing and medical staff with patient care and documentation.
Ensure the dignity and respect of patients at all times, maintaining confidentiality and privacy.
Administer prescribed medications under supervision, as required.
Report any changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
Adhere to healthcare regulations, safety procedures, and organisational policies.
Participate in training and development opportunities as required to improve service delivery and personal skills.
Requirements
Relevant experience in a healthcare assistant role or similar (at least 1 year preferred).
QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent (or working towards it).
Knowledge of healthcare best practices, patient rights, and infection control.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
Compassionate, empathetic, and patient-focused attitude.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.
Garda vetting will be required.
Previous experience working with elderly or vulnerable individuals.
CPR and First Aid certification.
