Join Our Team and Make a Difference Assistant Instructor Permanent Contract, Full-time 36 hours per week Location NLN Letterkenny County Donegal Job Purpose The Assistant Rehabilitative Training Programme aims to support learners with personal, social, and vocational development, fostering independence and integration. The Instructor will work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting individuals with ASD, intellectual, physical, or sensory disabilities using person-centred approaches and Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). Experience or openness to ABA is essential. Key responsibilities include one-to-one key working, creating individualised plans, and delivering QQI-accredited modules. Strong initiative, creativity, and excellent communication and teamwork skills are vital for this learner-focused, inclusive environment, guided by the New Directions policy for independent decision-making and personal growth. What we're looking for: * QQI Level 5 Education, Health Care or Social Care Qualification Patient Moving and Handing Qualification Infection Control Qualification desirable * Experience of working with Learners who display behaviours that challenge Experience in the provision of personal care and medication management Experience of working with young people with additional support needs including intellectual disabilities, ASD, physical and sensory needs and/or mental health difficulties * Skills in the care and support of individuals with disabilities * Skills & knowledge of personal care and implementation of good hygiene and health & safety practices Your Responsibilities Provide Personal and Medical Assistance Support service users with all aspects of personal care, manual handling, and assistance with medication, ensuring safety, hygiene, and comfort at all times. Individualised Support and Key Working Deliver one-to-one key working to assist learners in developing person-centred plans aligned with the New Directions ethos. Facilitate Participation and Skill Development Support learners in training and work experience, using assistive technologies, creative tools, and diverse methodologies to help achieve their personal and learning goals. Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team Assist in developing curricula and innovative training approaches in coordination with instructors and clinical staff. Maintain Records and Uphold Standards Keep accurate records and produce reports per quality standards, while observing all organisational rules and regulatory requirements.
