* Salary Growth: 5.25% increase from 1 November, then 2% from 1 April 2026

About the Role
As a Social Care Worker at Gheel, you will work closely with autistic adults to support them in building meaningful and independent lives. Your duties include helping individuals develop daily living skills, build confidence in managing routines, and pursuing education, training and employment pathways. You will also facilitate recreational and social activities that align with their interests and promote community inclusion. You will collaborate with the team in a person‑led, sensory‑aware environment that reflects the New Directions model of service delivery.
Our day services operate Monday to Friday during daytime hours; some flexibility may be required to accommodate individual needs. In return you receive a warm, collaborative workplace, annual salary increments and strong opportunities for career progression through continuous training and support.
Essential Qualifications
* Level 7 qualification in Social Care/Studies from an accredited institution, or an equivalent Level 7 award (NARIC), or a relevant third‑level degree in social work, psychology or allied health, or a post‑graduate qualification in Autism Studies
* Eligibility for CORU registration
Essential Criteria
* Excellent communication and engagement skills
* At least one‑year recent experience
* Ability to promote independence where applicable
* Thorough understanding of the New Directions framework
Desirable Criteria
* Experience supporting individuals with a diagnosis of ASD and knowledge of autism
* Case management experience
* Experience creating pathways to education, employment and housing and supporting people along those pathways
* Awareness of mental health, homelessness, addiction and social disadvantage within the Irish context
* Full, clean driver’s licence and access to own car for occasional travel
