Title and Summary
Senior Platform Engineer Overview
Infrastructure Design Services is a team of Technology Architects and Engineers responsible for analyzing and designing infrastructure frameworks that meet application, platform, or system needs in line with MasterCard's operational standards and principles.
They engage from the beginning of the analysis and design phase to work with application teams and other critical teams within Mastercard to ensure that infrastructure and application architecture align with security, scalability, and availability standards.
The primary deliverable is the TAD (Technical Architecture Document), detailing the infrastructure design for the application, platform, or system.
This role requires experience with internet fundamentals related to web servers, application servers, internet security, and other technologies.
Designing and delivering internet infrastructure solutions that satisfy member, product, service, and backbone requirements is essential.
Experience with Microsoft Visio for designing middleware infrastructure is preferred.
The candidate should be able to interface with users, application teams, and stakeholders to determine needs and requirements, generate high-level system requirements, and ensure they are consistent, complete, and operationally defined.
Role Responsibilities
* Generate requirements collaboratively with architects, engineers, application teams, and users.
* Create and maintain architectural products such as TADs, technical documents, logical flows, and models.
* Ensure all architectural products are current and relevant.
* Resolve internet architectural and operational issues impacting infrastructure and product availability globally.
* Research and evaluate new technologies for deployment.
* Lead and manage regional projects, including planning, resource utilization, and implementation.
* Implement, manage, and support internet infrastructure components, leveraging current standards and best practices.
* Perform problem diagnosis, performance tuning, capacity planning, and configuration management.
* Monitor production systems to ensure stability and compatibility.
Qualifications and Skills
* Thorough knowledge of network, operating systems, and web middleware.
* Expertise in core functions related to internet infrastructure design or web administration.
* High-energy, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
* Self-motivated with a strong initiative and results-driven approach.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong collaborative and organizational abilities.
* Willingness to learn and take on challenging opportunities.
