Company Overview
Kinnegar Brewing is one of Ireland's leading independent breweries. We make a range of high-quality beers at our facility in Letterkenny, County Donegal. The brewery is a small but exciting and challenging enterprise in Ireland's flourishing food and drink economy.
Since our founding in 2012, our production has grown to over 1.4 million liters per year. To earn that growth, we have continuously increased our interaction with a diverse cohort of customers, followers and fans. Using multiple avenues — our brewery Taproom, inhouse events, external festivals, and customer visits — we work hard to develop and maintain a genuine relationship with all types of Kinnegar enthusiast.
We are now looking for a multi-skilled, energetic and versatile individual with the personality and initiative to further develop our already strong customer relationships.
Location
Letterkenny is in north east Donegal, an area of unparalleled beauty and diversity in Ireland's north west. The landscape and environment in which our story has unfolded offers a superb lifestyle for those who enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the absence of traffic, crowds and the everyday stresses of urban existence.
The Job
The position covers a broad area of activity. You will be required to:
– Interact with our customers and trade partners in a friendly, helpful, ambassadorial fashion that naturally communicates Kinnegar's character, ethos and authenticity.
– Tend our Taproom and event bars
– Man the 'front desk', interacting with visitors and directing deliveries as appropriate
– Assist in supporting sales, marketing, and promotional activities
– Assist in the planning and realisation of external and internal events such as Summerfest, Oktoberfest, Oakfest, Bloom, etc
– Maintain, set up and manage festival bars, including transport of equipment, dispense, decoration, liaison with festival staff, etc.
– Maintain and install/hang/fit Kinnegar's promotional signage and display material on site and in the local environment.
– Manage and maintain our hire-out party dispense system, instructing customers in the simple set-up of Lindner's and pouring draught beer
– Maintain, manage and set up all furniture, fittings and infrastructure for Kinnegar's internal events, including both smaller scale Taproom events and large-scale brewery events such as our annual Summerfest and Oktoberfest
– Assist with our web shop activities, including processing and preparing orders
– Maintain and manage our merchandise and POS inventory, liaise with our trade customers and ensure that our customers receive what they need when they need it
– Support the day-to-day administration of the brewery
Skills and Attributes Required
The successful candidate for this position will be:
– Personable, with excellent communication skills and an intuitive understanding and embodiment of Kinnegar's 'personality'
– Energetic, versatile, and with a natural inclination to thrive on a combination of physical and intellectual tasks
– Copped on with plenty of practical common sense, initiative and problem-solving skills
– Comfortable in trouble shooting and solving technical problems
– Flexible in your understanding of your role and your willingness to adapt to the ever-changing challenges of brewery activity
– Available for off-site activities such as festivals
– Competent in driving, using a screwdriver, and other essential everyday skills
– Capable of quickly learning the essentials of beer dispense systems and other brewery-specific skills
While you may be of any nationality, you will have a legal right to live and work in Ireland. Both your verbal and written communication skills must be excellent.
Hours of Work
The brewery's schedule is dictated by the pace of brewing, fermentation and conditioning of the product and is therefore not entirely predictable. You will generally work within standard business hours but will be flexible enough to undertake work outside these hours as the nature of your responsibilities dictate.
This is a full-time position. While we expect a certain level of flexibility in work schedules, in return we offer as much flexibility as is practical.
Experience
Previous experience in the beer world or in a relevant customer-facing activity would be helpful, however your personality and aptitude will be equally important. We will provide in-house training in technical tasks specific to the job.
You must have a full, clean driver's license and will be comfortable driving small and mid-sized vans.
Salary
€29,000 to €35,000 per annum, determined by skill level and experience
