In this role, you will work closely with our Electronics design teams, manufacturing, and services team to design next-generation industrial sensing products. You will play a key role and actively participate in the full software development lifecycle.As a Firmware Engineer, your responsibilities will include:Designing, developing, validating, and maintaining industrial-grade embedded systems software/firmware.Evaluating system-level requirements through collaboration with Product Specialists, Product Managers, and other colleagues.Performing cross-platform development of C/C++ code while maintaining high code quality through best practices and automation.Fuel your passionTo succeed in this role, you should have:A Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution.Proven experience developing embedded C/C++ applications for ARM targets.Hands-on experience with RTOS environments such as FreeRTOS or Micrium.Experience with version control tools like Git and SVN.Proficiency in software/hardware debugging techniques.Effective written and verbal communication skills.Practical experience in designing industrial products.Leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in teams across functions, including with customers and suppliers.Fluency in English and eligibility to work in Ireland (Irish passport or work permit, no sponsorship needed).Desired Skills include:Experience with real-time Signal Processing algorithms.Proven experience with STM32 microcontrollers.Experience with CubeMX and IAR Embedded Workbench IDE.Knowledge of bus protocols like RS232, RS485, Modbus, I2C, and SPI.Experience working with external vendors for chip and driver integration and troubleshooting.Ability to read electrical schematics and PCB layouts.Experience with hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, bus analyzers, and multimeters.Work in a way that works for youWe offer flexible working patterns:Monday – Friday, 0900-1700hrs, 37.5 hours/week on-site.Hybrid work option after probation (3 days on-site, 2 days remote).Working with usOur people are at the heart of what we do.
