Job Title: Civil Works Manager
A skilled Civil Works Manager is required to oversee the execution of large civils projects in the Midlands region.
The role involves managing works spread out over the town of Athlone, encompassing:
* Construction of earthen embankments
* Construction of reinforced concrete walls/masonry clad reinforced concrete walls
* Installation of sheet pile walls
* Installation of pumping stations
* Installation of floodgates & glass walls
* Piling for structural elements
* Installation of culverts
* All associated building and civil engineering works
The successful candidate will have at least 3 years' experience with a main contractor on the construction of civil engineering projects, as well as a Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Production of method statements and risk assessments
2. Setting out including levelling/Total-station/GPS work
3. Monitoring the works and ensuring compliance with design drawings and specifications
4. Supervising civil engineering activities such as excavation, shuttering, steel-fixing, concrete works, pipe/culvert lifting and placing etc.
5. Daily record keeping and site progress photographs
6. Management of subcontractors
7. Providing assistance with procurement of goods and services
8. Attending site meetings and liaising with local authorities and stakeholders
9. Quality management and environmental controls
This position requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure smooth project delivery.
