Background
Atkins is a long established and leading player in the farm machinery and garden machinery sectors. From our headquarters at Carrigrohane road we also operate a successful gardencentre which is an important part of the company's offering. Ahead of the forthcoming season we have a vacancy for a full time and permanent general assistant to support instore operations and deliveries.
Job Purpose
As an all-rounder on the garden centre team contribute to providing a high level of customer service, store presentation, stock control and delivery service.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve customers efficiently and with courtesy at the till, offering help where needed;
* Help keep the shop, external plants section, goods inwards area and warehouse well maintained, i.e. areas clean, stock well presented, passageways clear, trolleys available, packing materials disposed of correctly, etc.;
* Assist with stock management processes as required – checking off deliveries, putting away goods in the warehouse, assembly of furniture and barbeques, merchandising, packing up online sales orders, stocktaking, etc .;
* Deliver items to customers using the company van (standard B license);
* Be knowledgeable on gardening and our portfolio so as to be able to offer recommendations and advice.
Experience & Qualifications Required
* At least 2nd level education completed;
* Full driving license (category b) with at most 3 penalty points required;
* Minimum two years post education work experience required;
* Education/work experience in a gardening related field an advantage;
* Fork lift driving experience an advantage;
* English language fluency required;
* IT fluency expected.
Skills & Traits Sought
* A positive attitude, good work ethic and a customer service disposition;
* An ability and willingness to lift products (some manual handling is inevitable);
* Flexibility to work a variable working week (inc. weekends) pattern;
* An appreciation of gardening/nature an advantage.

Reports To : Gardenworld Manager
Job location : Carrigrohane Road, T12 TX84. WFH not applicable.
Structure : Permanent & full time. Opening hours Monday – Saturday 09:00 – 17:30 + Sundays & Bank holidays in season 12:00 - 17:30
Remn. : €14.15/hr. - €16/hr.
Commission : Yes, commencing after 12 months
Pension : Yes, attractive group scheme
