Application Support Engineer
A leading international investment firm is looking for an Application Support Engineer to join its high‑performing technology team. You’ll be part of a smart, collaborative group that supports everything from trading systems to risk, research, and investor platforms—all critical to keeping the business running at its best.
What you’ll do:
* Act as the first point of contact for application issues and get hands‑on solving problems fast.
* Support core trade order management and reconciliation systems.
* Monitor and maintain application performance to keep things running smoothly.
* Manage Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP) connections, IP whitelists, SSH keys, and handle PGP file encryption/decryption.
* Validate updates and releases before they hit production.
* Document solutions and help train users on internal systems.
What we’re looking for:
* 5+ years’ experience in application support, ideally in financial services.
* Advanced SQL know‑how—joins, functions, triggers, CTEs, etc.
* Strong SFTP experience.
* Strong understanding of fixed income, equities, options, and FX products.
* Familiarity with job scheduling tools like ActiveBatch or Tidal.
* Experience supporting front‑office trading and back‑office applications.
* Basic scripting in Python and exposure to .NET debugging.
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with global teams.
* Previous buy‑side experience is a plus, but not essential.
