Working directly with the Purchasing Director, this role offers significant opportunity for professional development and progression within a dynamic purchasing and supply chain function.You will play a key role in managing stock levels, supplier relationships, and purchase orders, while supporting the smooth flow of goods across the supply chain.Key ResponsibilitiesManage day-to-day stock controlPlace purchase orders in line with demand forecasts, sales trends, and lead timesMaintain accurate and up-to-date purchasing and stock records within internal systemsLiaise closely with suppliers, negotiating pricing, terms, lead times, and delivery schedulesBuild and maintain strong, professional supplier relationshipsWork collaboratively with the supply chain, logistics, and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveriesMonitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issues as they ariseAssist with range planning, product launches, and seasonal buying cyclesSupport the Purchasing Director with reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement initiativesSkills & ExperiencePrevious experience in a buying, purchasing, or supply chain role (home furnishings, retail, or FMCG experience an advantage)Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skillsProven ability to negotiate and communicate effectively with suppliersHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyComfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficient in ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelA proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn and developWith direct mentorship and exposure to senior decision-making through close collaboration with the Purchasing Director, this is role gives genuine career development and progression opportunities
