Location: Sugarloaf Care Centre, Kilmacanogue South
Job Purpose: As a Staff Nurse, you will supervise and provide comprehensive nursing care, ensuring the health and comfort of residents while fostering a supportive and healing environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
Managing residents' admissions, discharges, and medication administration in line with best practices.
Developing individual care plans using a person‑centered approach.
Ensuring the accurate and timely recording of Care Notes and Plans.
Maintaining high standards of resident care and hygiene.
Supervising mealtimes, attending to feeding requirements, and performing necessary personal care tasks.
Assisting with in‑house training, emergency response, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
Assume responsibility on each shift for the nursing care of allocated residents.
Planning and delivering a high standard of evidence‑based individualised care.
Leading a team of Health Care Assistants, allocating duties, and ensuring they perform their duties adequately.
Evaluating resident care needs and, in conjunction with our multidisciplinary team, implementing and evaluating individualised care plans that meet the resident’s needs.
Adhering to the procedures/guidelines in place.
Maintaining clear, concise, and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation.
Being able to work quickly and effectively in an emergency situation.
Performing procedures accurately, completely and safely.
Building strong relationships with residents to encourage trust and understand their needs.
Having knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and the ability to participate in the inspection process.
Working shifts rostered Monday to Sunday, including night duty.
Requirements
Registered on the Irish live register (NMBI) with an active PIN.
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
One year of nursing experience (preferred).
Experience with HIQA Standards and Health Act Regulations 2013.
Strong clinical and communication skills required.
IT skills, computer literate in Outlook, Word and Excel.
Fluent in English language (verbal and written).
Proven attention to detail and follow‑through.
