Principal Responsibilities
Perform planned preventive maintenance on facilities equipment, including:
Steam generation and distribution systems (fire-tube boilers)
Purified water systems ()
Thermal sterilisation systems (ventilated autoclaves)
HVAC systems for cleanroom environments (ISO Class 8 or similar), including filter replacement
Compressed air generation and distribution systems (ISO ******:**** Class 2)
Automatic pumped sprinkler systems
Closed-loop water systems (chilled water, process cooling, LPHW)
Potable and domestic water systems
ATEX equipment and IPA distribution systems
Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (PEMAC) for maintenance tracking and documentation
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repair
Complete required documentation for validated GMP systems in line with site procedures
Support and participate in routine statutory inspections of facilities equipment
Contribute to site and facilities projects, including continuous improvement initiatives
Support departmental activities during audits (EHS, FM Global, NSAI, HPRA/IMB, FDA, ISO *****)
Operate and troubleshoot systems via the site Building Management System (BMS)
Assist Facilities Engineers in optimising plant performance and efficiency
Receive and manage deliveries of IPA (pure/waste) and facilities maintenance materials
Participate in multi-skilling activities as required and once appropriately trained
Provide emergency standby cover on a rotational basis, as required
Support planned shutdown activities, including Christmas and August Bank Holiday maintenance period
Requirements
Recognised mechanical qualification (e.g. National Craft Certificate)
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a facilities/utilities role within an FDA-regulated environment
Strong experience with plant utilities, including:
Steam and steam distribution systems
Purified water systems (generation and storage)
Compressed air systems
HVAC systems
Water systems (chilled, cooling, heating, potable, DHW)
Solvent systems and ATEX environments
Experience with sterilisation systems/autoclaves is highly desirable
Working knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
Familiarity with planned preventive maintenance systems (e.g. PEMAC)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and use initiative
Excellent communication skills
