Job Description
Position Summary:
The Sr. Technical Sales Specialist (TSS) for Production Chemicals & Services (PCS) is a role within the Biologicals and Chemicals Division sales organization of the BioProduction Group. This technical role will focus on building key strategic relationships with customers with near-term revenue gains and develop new opportunities, building a strong pipeline for future and organic growth. This individual will apply above-average sales experience, bioproduction process knowledge, product expertise, market intelligence, and territory leadership skills to grow sales and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Discover new opportunities and use the product portfolio and service offering to build a foundation for long term growth.
2. Drive existing funnel of opportunities to reduce time to order.
3. Apply intelligence-based prospecting to identify new potential opportunities.
4. Effectively use SFDC for pipeline, bookings and revenue to analyze territory and trends, forecast territory health and proactively identify areas of growth with recurring and new business revenue.
5. Build and maintain Opportunity Pipeline to ensure accurate forecasting of revenue.
6. Leverage SFDC Tools and procedures per established workflows.
7. Collaborate with and influence Bioproduction Account Managers (BAMs) and Field Application Specialists (FAS) within their region to develop and lead account growth strategies.
8. Establish and build relationships with key decision-makers and identify the technical buyers.
9. Assist all BAMs within assigned territory with sales and account planning efforts to achieve sales goals, including value proposition development across the wide BCD portfolio.
10. Aid in the development of technical solution-matching for complex opportunities.
11. Attend technical collaboration visits to Business Unit manufacturing and R&D sites.
12. Provide post-sales product support, following up on all product performance complaints or inquiries to ensure resolution to improve the customer experience.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree preferred background in a life-science related field required, such as Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Engineering.
2. 5+ years of sales experience working in a role related to the bioproduction process.
3. Daily utilization of SFDC to track Sales Activity, Opportunities, and Leads.
4. Fulfill customer facing visits on a regular basis, targeting 60% travel.
5. Demonstrate good judgment and tact to all internal and external customers; with a bias for improving overall experience.
6. Strong understanding of customer challenges and solution development.
7. Ambassador of Miller-Heiman sales technique or applicable experience.
