Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what's right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. And you take pride in knowing that every day you are working hard to promote trust in Google and ensure the highest levels of user safety.
This role is focused on protecting Google's platform by identifying and combating abusive content and activities. You'll use analytical and fraud-fighting techniques to uncover violations of Google's Global Elections Integrity standards and policies, particularly in ads and content. Through data analysis, you'll gain insights to improve abuse detection and prevention across Google products. You'll also contribute to tool and process enhancements, optimizing operational workflows and identifying automation opportunities. Conducting investigations and enforcing product policies are key responsibilities. This role requires occasional on-call rotations and may involve handling of sensitive content or situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
* 4 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.
Preferred qualifications:
* 4 years of experience working with abuse, spam, fraud, or malware.
* Experience working on product policy analysis and identifying policy risks.
* Experience using statistical analysis and hypothesis testing.
* Excellent influencing skills and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
* Use analytical and fraud fighting techniques to identify ads and content that are violating Google's Global Elections Integrity Standards.
* Perform data analyses to derive insights that help to identify and fight abuse across our products.
* Improve tools through data analysis, technical expertise, and presentations to key stakeholders.
* Enhance our operational workflows via process improvements and identification of automation opportunities.
* Conduct investigations, enforce our product policies, and identify product vulnerabilities. Occasionally be exposed to disturbing or offensive content during the process.
