ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and support warehouse staff in daily operations including goods inwards, order picking, dispatch, cable cutting, and maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment.
Manage stock control procedures, including cycle counts, stock checks, and inventory reconciliation to ensure high levels of stock accuracy.
Ensure all stock is correctly barcoded, labelled, and stored in designated warehouse locations to support efficient warehouse operations.
Liaise with Purchasing and other branch managers regarding inter-branch stock transfers and stock availability requirements.
Work closely with Sales and Transport teams to ensure customer orders are processed accurately and delivered on time.
Support the Branch Manager and Operations Manager in achieving operational targets and improving warehouse efficiency.
Assist with training and mentoring warehouse staff while ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures and company policies.
Carry out additional warehouse and operational duties as required to support the day-to-day running of the branch.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
4 years’ experience in a high-volume warehouse supervisory or management role, with responsibility for staff supervision, stock control, and day-to-day warehouse operations.
Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to manage teams effectively and maintain positive working relationships across departments.
Experience working within a busy warehouse, logistics, or builders merchants environment, with a good understanding of operational processes and customer service standards.
Product knowledge of builders merchants, electrical, plumbing, or construction-related stock is a distinct advantage.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, organisation, and health & safety compliance.
Full clean driving licence essential, with flexibility to support branch and operational requirements where needed.
Valid forklift licences with experience operating warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
