Commercial Manager - Ireland

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Commercial Manager, working on high-profile projects in the region.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management of large projects, working closely with project teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ownership of the commercial aspects of projects, including cost management, procurement, and contract administration.
* Develop and maintain detailed cost plans and budgets, monitoring costs against budget and identifying variances.
* Lead the tendering process for subcontractor packages, reviewing bids, negotiating contracts, and making recommendations to senior management.
* Administer construction contracts, including reviewing contract terms, preparing subcontract agreements, and managing variations and claims.
* Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and measurements, ensuring quantities are in line with project requirements.
* Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities
* Manage change control processes, assessing the impact of changes on project costs and schedules and negotiating equitable solutions with stakeholders.
* Prepare and defend contractual claims, ensuring compliance with contract terms and applicable regulations.
* Provide guidance and support to junior quantity surveyors and other project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying or commercial management,
* Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and industry standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Proficiency in cost estimating, cost control, and financial management.
* Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders at all levels.
