About the Role
The Accounts Administrator will deliver efficient financial support to the business, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounting transactions. This position suits a detail-focused and dynamic finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys contributing to broader finance operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process high volumes of supplier/customer invoices in line with internal policies and procedures
Raise purchase orders as required and liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice queries
Support finance team members to meet operational demands and strict deadlines
Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and month end duties.
Prepare bank reconciliations, post cash transactions to the general ledger, and maintain accurate debtor and creditor ledgers
Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time
Manage customer payments, respond to account enquiries, and proactively chase outstanding balances
Review financial records, reports, and controls to ensure accuracy and minimise risk of error or fraud
Undertake additional duties as directed by Team Lead
Essential Requirements
* Previous experience in an accounting or finance role with a strong understanding of accounting principle
* Experience using Sage is desirable but not essential
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
* Experience in construction or consulting industries beneficial
Excellent attitude and willingness to learn
