Job Title: Financial Controller

About the Role:

We are currently recruiting a Financial Controller on behalf of our client. The role will involve delivering timely financial reporting and control requirements for trading and holding company entities.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Tralee, with a broad range of responsibilities including ensuring all period close activities are carried out in accordance with company procedures and in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage, develop the existing finance team to ensure seamless operations
* Oversee the monthly accounts payable process ensuring strict adherence to agreed company reconciliation and payment policies
* Maintain governance over all bank and cash transactions
* Help the finance team to procedure accurate financial statements inclusive of detailed gross margin analysis, P&L and BS
* Oversee the payroll team and provide guidance and support on any pertinent issues
* Take responsibility for the key accounting adjustments during quarterly close
* Be a liaison for the group with external parties e.g. suppliers/insurers/auditors/tenants/debtors etc.
* Revenue reporting responsibility for all VAT returns
* Maintain up to date Trial Balances for all holding companies
* Compile periodic consolidated group accounts
* Oversee group inter-company transactions to ensure recorded appropriately
* Maintain up to date KPIs on various expense headings across the group
* Work closely with P&L owners to ensure all accounting issues are communicated on a timely basis
* Provide ad hoc sales/margin/overhead analysis and commentary as required through Power BI/Pivot table analysis of large datasets

About You:

* You must be a qualified Accountant with practice & industry experience
* You should have experience working with cross-functional teams in multiple locations
* You should have a track record in delivering to deadlines and driving continuous improvement while maintaining attention to detail
* You should be an experienced user of various accounting systems, excel and other cloud-based applications
* You should possess excellent communication skills
* You should be a proven problem solver not afraid to tackle issues head-on
