OverviewMCS Group is proud to be working with a well-established semi state organisation looking to bring in a senior data leader to take ownership of their enterprise data function.This role will sit at the centre of how data is structured, governed and used across the business. You'll lead on data strategy, improve data quality and lifecycle management, and help turn data into something the business can actually use to make better decisions.You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across IT, risk and the wider business, shaping how data is managed, consumed and leveraged.
What you'll be doingDefine and drive the organisation's data strategyOwn data governance, standards and data quality across the businessBuild and improve data lifecycle management processesAct as the central point of contact for data across systems and applicationsWork with IT teams on data architecture, modelling and integration decisionsOversee data vendors, sources and usage (including cost and optimisation)Develop dashboards and reporting to support business decision makingPartner with senior stakeholders to align data initiatives with business goals
What we're looking for10+ years' experience in data / IT roles, with strong leadership exposureStrong background in ETL / ELT and data pipeline designExperience working in scalable, distributed or big data environmentsSolid understanding of data warehousing and data modellingCloud experience (AWS or Azure)Strong SQL and RDBMS experience (Oracle / SQL Server beneficial)Experience with data governance and MDM conceptsComfortable working across technical and business stakeholdersStrong communication skills and ability to influence at senior levelFull right to work in Ireland (Stamp 4/EU Citizenship)
Nice to haveExperience working in data-heavy, regulated environmentsExposure to Hadoop ecosystems or NoSQL technologiesFamiliarity with APIs, REST, JSON and integration technologies
