Job Overview:
The role of the Speech and Language Therapist involves delivering specialized assessment, diagnosis, and intervention services for individuals with disabilities who present communication and/or swallowing difficulties.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement treatment plans for clients based on professional standards and best practices.
* Maintain accurate records of assessments, intervention plans, progress notes, and reports in accordance with relevant service standards.
* Prioritize and manage a caseload efficiently, ensuring effective case management and professional boundaries are maintained.
* Collaborate with clients, their support networks, and other team members to develop and deliver supportive interventions and advice.
Essential Qualifications:
* Hold a recognized qualification from the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU
* A minimum of one year's experience working in disability, education, or training
* Understanding of empowerment principles and person-centered planning
* Skilled in augmentative and alternative communication systems, including low-tech supports and high-tech devices
