Overview
We are recruiting for a Restaurant Supervisor to provide quality service to our guests in line with The Red Carnation Hotels standards. The Lodge at Ashford Castle is set in a 350 acre estate, overlooking Lough Corrib. The Lodge offers country house charm, fine dining in Wilde's Restaurant and a range of estate activities. It is one of Ireland's finest wedding destinations, pairing warm Irish hospitality with a modern appeal. We are looking for a Restaurant Supervisor to join our Fine Dining Team in Wilde's at The Lodge, Ashford Castle, within The Lodge at Ashford Estate. The main focus will be to personally provide and supervise the service of food and beverages to our guests in line with company standards.
Key responsibilities
* Support the Restaurant Manager in ensuring efficient, friendly and professional service within the outlets, meeting the required Hotel/RCH Service Standards.
* Monitor daily operations within the outlets, liaising with the Restaurant Manager, Food & Beverage Operations Manager and the Head Chef to ensure the operation is organised to meet daily business needs.
* Manage the Food & Beverage service in the absence of the Restaurant Manager, taking ownership of the operation to ensure guests receive an efficient, friendly and professional service at all times.
* Be fully aware of Hotel Function Sheets and Guest Bookings, ensuring each outlet has sufficient equipment, resources and staffing levels to meet business demands.
* Assist the Restaurant Manager in implementing cost control and stock control measures.
* Be actively involved in all aspects of daily operations in a hands-on capacity.
Ideal candidate
* A motivated and driven individual with a passion for Food & Beverage, guest care and hospitality.
* Significant previous experience in a similar Food & Beverage function.
* Strong knowledge and passion for Food & Beverage.
* Ability to manage all cost controls (e.g., food cost, labour).
* Experience of staff training, rotas, financial reporting, stock control and ordering.
* Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
* Excellent organisational skills.
* Ability to handle pressurized situations and busy periods.
* Flexible, innovative and adaptable.
* Fluency in written and spoken English.
* Hospitality-related degree and previous supervisory experience would be beneficial (not essential).
