Heat Merchants Group trades in 42 outlets around Ireland as Heat Merchants and Tubs & Tiles.
The group has 30 Heat Merchants branches and 12 Tubs & Tiles showrooms supported by a central warehouse and distribution hub based in Athlone.
The Group's business support services and technical design hub are based in offices in Athlone and Balbriggan.
Tubs & Tiles have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Business Development Manager in the Dublin region.
The purpose of this role is to drive specification-led growth by developing strong relationships with key stakeholders, influencing product choices early in the design process, and converting specifications into profitable project sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with design-led stakeholders, including architects, interior designers and design houses, influencing product selection and specification at early design stages.
Work closely with Branch Managers to identify and pursue sales opportunities in their respective areas.
Provide value-engineered solutions during on-site negotiations.
Ensure service levels exceed the minimum agreements for key customers, delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Deliver technical product presentations and CPD seminars to design practices, showcasing full product capabilities and applications.
Sales and Business Development
Proactively identify and pursue new project opportunities within Hospitality, Office, and Multi-Residential sectors to drive product specification at early design stages.
Promote and sell a large range of residential and commercial tile and sanitary ware solutions.
Implement strategies to increase sales through targeted customer engagement and technical expertise.
Identify market challenges and propose solutions to increase sales and conversion rates.
Identify new products and sales opportunities, preparing accurate quotes and following up as required.
Drive the supply of tile and sanitary ware projects by promoting exclusive agency products and solutions to potential clients.
Technical Support and Documentation
Prepare technical submittals and specifications to share with Consultant Engineers.
Produce accurate quotations and follow up on all sales leads.
High attention to detail, especially when preparing technical documents and reports.
Maintain good technical knowledge of the product range, as well as staying updated on new products, building regulations, and industry standards.
Help ensure value-engineered solutions are offered on-site where possible.
Collaborate with Business Development Managers to provide technical support as part of the sales process and assist in securing face-to-face meetings.
Partner with Renewable and Bathroom Merchant teams to identify and pursue live customer and project opportunities.
Pass leads to, and actively participate in, synergy meetings with the HM Group Commercial Team as needed.
Prepare and deliver comprehensive customer sales activity reports to the Line Manager on a monthly basis or as required.
Project and Pipeline Management
Track projects through the design, tender and construction phases to ensure the specification is protected and not changed by contractors, providing monthly reports to management.
Maintain and update CRM systems daily to ensure accurate tracking of customer and project information.
Provide regular reports on sales performance and market insights as requested by management.
Provide project forecasts to support stock planning for live and specified projects.
Health & Safety and Compliance
Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Ensure compliance with relevant building, Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and standards at all times.
Accountabilities
Achieving sales and margin targets as set by the National Sales Manager.
Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of market trends, building regulations, and the product range.
Collect outstanding debtors in accordance with credit terms and company targets.
Other Responsibilities
Undertake any other duties reasonably requested by management.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The successful candidate must have:
Experience working with architectural or interior design practices, design houses, or specification-led projects within the residential or commercial interiors sector.
Previous experience in a customer facing consultative sales role (minimum 2 years).
In-depth knowledge of the Irish Building Services industry.
Proven ability to achieve sales targets and consistently deliver results in a tile sales retail or commercial sector.
Experience in delivering professional presentations and training to various groups, demonstrating confidence and knowledge.
Fostering long-term specification relationships that convert to repeat project opportunities.
A proven ability to deliver excellent customer service, catering to the needs and expectations of clients.
High attention to detail when preparing technical documents, specifications, and reports.
Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and persuade effectively.
Capable of working independently, demonstrating initiative, and thriving in a motivated sales and technical team environment.
Proficiency with office software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and other relevant digital tools.
Full clean valid driver's license, with a willingness to travel as part of the role.
