The Role:As the Head of EHS, you will be responsible for developing and executing our company's comprehensive environmental, health, and safety strategy. This pivotal role ensures alignment with our business objectives while maintaining compliance across all operations. You will lead efforts in EHS risk identification and mitigation, utilize data analytics to monitor trends, and manage emergency response plans for critical incidents. Additionally, you will cultivate a safety-driven culture by establishing performance metrics and ensuring the effective integration of safety protocols and training throughout the organization. This position also includes oversight of the EHS function budget.Key Responsibilities:Act as a role model in coaching and mentoring to enhance both team and individual performance.Expertly identify issues and foster problem-solving capabilities within the organization.Promote autonomous teams, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and local decision-making.Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, leveraging data for proactive risk management.Use data analytics to identify and mitigate potential hazards, fostering a comprehensive safety culture.Swiftly address unforeseen safety, health, or environmental incidents with real-time monitoring and response strategies.Maintain a strong knowledge of local and global sustainability and environmental compliance requirements.Encourage the adoption of emerging technologies and best practices for continuous improvement in EHS.Define and communicate a visionary safety strategy that aligns with organizational goals.Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the EHS program and ensure compliance with regulations.Who You Are:Hold an honors degree in an Engineering or Science discipline; a postgraduate qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety is advantageous.Possess at least 10 years of experience in an EHS role or equivalent.Have relevant leadership experience in a health and safety manufacturing environment, with direct process safety and/or machine safety experience being a distinct advantage.Demonstrate a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of health and safety regulatory requirements and technical codes of practice.Have a proven track record of successful interactions with regulatory agencies.Exhibit strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment.Show a demonstrated commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
