Warehouse Operations Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking a Warehouse Operations Supervisor to lead day-to-day warehouse activities, ensuring high performance across service delivery, productivity, accuracy, and compliance. This role is responsible for maintaining operational excellence while adhering to all Health & Safety, hygiene, and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will provide clear and timely operational reporting to internal and external stakeholders, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maximise the effective use of people, space, and warehouse systems. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a visible presence on the warehouse floor, strong organisational capability, and a customer‑focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & People Management
Lead, motivate, and manage warehouse teams, including recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management
Manage employee relations issues, including disciplinary and grievance processes in line with company policies
Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and holiday schedules
Ensure effective workforce planning to meet operational demand and peak periods
Operational Performance & Productivity
Deliver and maintain KPIs across productivity, accuracy, quality, and service levels
Monitor, analyse, and report on warehouse performance metrics
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost‑effectiveness
Ensure teams consistently meet agreed targets and SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
Communication & Reporting
Produce and present daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
Lead daily shift briefings covering priorities, safety updates, and performance expectations
Resolve operational issues promptly and escalate where required
Act as a key communication link between warehouse, transport, and senior management
Health, Safety & Compliance
Conduct regular warehouse audits and safety inspections
Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and industry standards
Promote a safety‑first culture and ensure all incidents are reported and investigated
Maintain compliance with quality, hygiene, and security protocols
Inventory & Process Control
Oversee all warehouse processes including:
Goods In / Receiving
Put‑away & Replenishment
Order Picking & Packing
Dispatch & Distribution
Ensure inventory accuracy through robust stock control and cycle counting
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, damages, and shortages
Ensure all shipments are accurate and correctly documented
Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on operational issues
Implement corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)
Drive improvements in service quality, operational efficiency, and team performance
Optimise use of warehouse equipment and systems
Shift & Cross‑Functional Coordination
Ensure effective shift handovers with clear documentation
Collaborate with transport, planning, and operations teams
Ensure consistency in processes, systems usage, and operational standards
Support overall site performance and operational goals
Space & Capacity Management
Maximise warehouse storage utilisation through effective layout and stock organisation
Manage racking systems and floor space to improve efficiency and throughput
Requirements & Experience
Proven experience in a Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager / Logistics Manager role
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes
Experience managing teams in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and warehouse systems (WMS preferred)
Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations (Ireland/UK desirable)
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making ability
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
