A panel may be formed from which subsequent Staff Nurse/Enhanced Nurse appointments may be made over the next 6 months.
Location and Service
Deerpark service is a developing community-based day and residential service in Ballinasloe. We provide community-based day, respite and residential services to adults with varying support needs based on personal outcome measures. Our focus is to form a relationship/partnership with each individual and their family to support people to be valued citizens in their local community and to have ordinary life experiences.
Reporting
Reporting/Responsible To: Team Leader/Team Manager/Service Co-ordinator/Area Manager
Working With
People supported and their families; Team Leader; Multidisciplinary staff; Service Management
Qualifications
A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID or RGN qualification is essential. A full clean manual Driving Licence, allowing you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads and use of your own car is essential. Fluency in verbal and written English is essential for this post.
Experience
Candidates must have relevant experience and an appreciation of the responsibilities of the post and issues affecting the everyday lives of individuals with an Intellectual Disability.

Working Hours
75 hours per fortnight based on a 7-day duty roster. Working days, evenings, weekends, public holidays, sleepovers and night duties may be required to meet service needs. The Brothers of Charity model is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring flexibility to provide quality service in support of each individual.
Leave and Remuneration
Annual Leave: 24 days per annum. Service-related leave after 5 and 10 years. Remuneration: Department of Health salary scale per HSE consolidated pay scale (dated 01/08/2025).
Staff Nurse: €37,288 x 12 increments up to €53,873 per annum. Long Service Increment €55,477 per annum after 3 years at the max of the scale.
Enhanced Nurse: €44,311 x 7 increments up to €55,644 per annum. Long Service Increment €57,273 per annum after 3 years at the max of the scale.
Note: As per HSE HR Circular 022/2019 – Nursing and Midwifery, Enhanced Nurse/Midwife Practice Contract. Once a Staff Nurse reaches point 4 on the Staff Nurse salary scale, they are eligible to apply for the Enhanced Nurse role. Applications may be submitted while meeting the qualifying criteria.
The successful candidate will receive incremental credit subject to verification of prior relevant nursing service. Additional payments apply for weekends, public holidays, sleep-ins and night duty when worked.
Tenure and Probation
Tenure: Temporary, full-time and pensionable on a specific purpose basis linked to redeployment of a staff member. Probation: Nine months from date of appointment. Employment may be terminated during probation if unsuitable. Probation may be extended at the Employer’s discretion.
