Role Profile
The Quality Operations Manager reports to the Senior Quality Operations Manager as part of the Quality Operations team. The overall purpose of this role is to embed and sustain Quality and Food Safety policies in your plant. Drive a ‘right first time’ culture and performance by ensuring that processes and operations meet customer and regulatory requirements. A key deliverable is reducing the occurrence of defects against quality standards. The role collaborates with plant stakeholders to continuously improve performance to quality standards and to drive all quality-relevant Corrective and Preventative actions to timely and effective completion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Drive a strong Quality culture within the plant;
2. Implement the Glanbia Quality Management System (GQS) in your plant;
3. Manage quality performance and KPIs related to Product & Process Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Regulatory Compliance;
4. Maintain customer product specifications, certifications, and final product grading;
5. Serve as the point of contact for customers regarding product/process-specific quality support;
6. Collaborate with Operations Management and teams to ensure quality operations requirements are fully resourced to deliver plant in-process sampling and testing schedules;
7. Oversee and support plant Root Cause Analyses (RCA), effective CAPA implementation, and verification for all process deviations;
8. Audit quality practices and processes focusing on Hygiene, HACCP, and deviation prevention;
9. Support the Quality Systems Manager and ensure compliance with Glanbia Standards by all processes within the Quality Operations scope;
10. Participate in planning and conducting plant audits with customers, regulatory bodies, and third parties;
11. Manage change control related to quality aspects of plant operations;
12. Manage the Process Technicians team, including training, development, performance, and communication.
Key Requirements
* Third-level degree in Sciences, Engineering, or Process disciplines;
* Relevant experience in a large Dairy, Food, or Pharmaceutical company in Quality Assurance, Food Safety, and Process Improvement;
* Proven track record in process improvement, especially from a quality perspective;
* Strong problem-solving skills and experience applying Lean principles;
* Excellent team-working and communication skills;
* Aptitude for operational processes, cross-functional teamwork, Lean, and continuous improvement;
* Experience in auditing and facilitating Corrective Actions in a Dairy/Food production environment;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ideally LIMS and Statistics;
* Drive for Results, Planning, Interpersonal Savvy, Conflict Management, Managing through systems, Organizational agility.
