Finance Manager – 12 month FTC
Location – London/Leeds/Dublin/IOM.
Hybrid: 2 days per week (Dublin only)
Overview
Reporting to the Senior Manager – Intercompany & Statutory Reporting, you will be part of a team responsible for intercompany and local GAAP accounting, annual local financial statement compilation and filing, annual statutory audit, support for merger & acquisition integration and deregistration, and collaboration with Group Reporting, Tax, Company Secretarial, FP&A, Divisional Finance teams, Legal and external auditors.
Responsibilities
Manage intercompany recharges and relationships with certain divisions across the Group; work with tax to ensure completeness of transfer pricing and cross charges.
Support improvement of internal controls; work with the internal controls team and external auditors to ensure compliance with SOx requirements and provide process notes or walkthroughs.
Manage projects related to finance transformation; support ongoing Polaris project, working with systems teams, Deloitte and stakeholders to align on Intercompany systems such as ARCS reconciliation tool.
Work with VAT to ensure compliance with VAT requirements; work closely with Group Reporting to meet month-end financial close requirements and ensure intercompany balances and transactions eliminate across the Group.
Provide financial support and advice to division's operational business units and FP&A regarding intercompany recharges where applicable.
Oversee preparation of statutory financial reporting for the Group's legal entities; liaise with local finance, Tax, Legal, Company Secretarial teams.
Design efficient processes and procedure enhancements for all aspects of intercompany, utilising systems including Oracle, Alteryx, AGIS and in-house AI tools.
Ensure legal entity reporting adjustments are tracked, supported and reflected in Oracle; support Tax on tax accounting and external tax audits or investigation.
Work closely with Tax and Company Secretarial to liquidate and deregister dormant companies.
Continuously improve the monthly close process and related outputs, working across finance teams.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships within Intercompany and statutory reporting and the broader Global Finance organisation.
Research and conclude on technical accounting issues relating to intercompany which impact the Group.
People management: manage and train Financial Accountants and other junior team members; assist senior managers and directors in resource oversight; perform technical review of team work.
Qualifications
Qualified Accountant with 5+ years progressive experience, preferably in a multi-national/plc environment or a Big-4 firm.
Experience in Statutory Reporting; US GAAP and IFRS experience essential.
Ability to work effectively with senior collaborators.
Proven experience designing and maintaining strong internal control environments (SOX or equivalent); developing/implementing reporting and operating process improvements.
Strong financial accounting experience and solid understanding of current/relevant technical accounting issues.
Financial systems experience – Oracle and Hyperion advantageous.
Excellent MS Office skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Highly motivated, organized, professional, a great teammate.
Strong process, technical, and analytical skills with commercial competence and interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation and communication skills; able to identify key issues and communicate them broadly.
